The multivariate analysis was performed on the delayed skin reactivity of the patients with endogenous uveitis to evaluate its clinical importance in the diagnosis of this disorder. The most important antigens for the discrimination of various uveitis entities were selected. Patients (78) with endogenous uveitis were studied. Of these, 26 had sarcoidosis, 17 had Harada's disease and 35 had Behcet's disease. Skin tests were performed with 5 antigens.sbd.Candida, mumpus, phytohemagglutinin-P (PHA-P) and streptokinase-streptodornase (SK-SD). It was revealed that 60-80% of cases were fit for the initial diagnosis by internal checks of discriminant functions, and the delayed skin test was shown to be a useful clinical test. Stepwise regression procedure revealed that PPD and PHA-P played a major role for the discrimination of different uveitis entities. Delayed skin test, either with PPD and PHA-P or PPD alone, seems to play an important role for the differential diagnosis of endogenous uveitis.
