One of the cases reported was in a 33-yr-old woman with several nodules on the right leg from which Fonsecaea pedrosoi was isolated. Therapy with ketoconazole at 200 mg/day orally led to regression of the lesions but they did not disappear. These and lesions which appeared subsequently were excised and the ketoconazole therapy was continued. No further lesions have appeared for 1 yr. The second case was in a 9-yr-old girl who developed chromomycosis 2 yr after kidney transplantation at a site where a wood splinter had been removed several years previously. The lesion was excised and has not recurred.
