Aspergillus sp. was isolated in culture from skin lesions (raised, irregular, white foci) and stomach contents of 3 fetuses aborted by a sixth-litter sow at 83 days' gestation; a mummified fetus and the placenta were not cultured. It was thought that this was an isolated case of mycotic abortion (a rare condition in pigs), as examination of a previously aborted fetus from the same 125-sow breeding unit had produced no significant finding.
