Intra-articular injection of betamethasone in arthritis in horses

A preparation containing betamethasone disodium phosphate and betamethasone acetate was injected into 11 arthritic joints of eight horses, four of which had degenerative joint disease, two traumatic arthritis, one osteochondritis dissecans, and one bilateral tarsal hydrarthrpsis. Serial intra-articular injections and post-injection analyses of synovial fluid were performed in two of the horses.
