Malignant struma ovarii, diagnosed post menopause

A clinical case of malignized struma ovarii diagnosed in a 57-yr-old women, who was endocrinologically followed up for .apprx. 30 yr for hypothyroidism is presented. The diagnosis was established histologically on the surgical specimen. The polymorphic histological aspects, mitoses and calcifications in stroma determine the diagnosis of malignancy. The literature on this subject is reviewed.
