Intestinal cryptosporidiosis in two pups

Cryptosporidiosis was diagnosed in two 6-week-old pups. One died in a weak, semi-comatose condition, and the other died after developing seizures. Neither had diarrhoea. Typical cryptosporidial forms were demonstrated by bright-field and electron microscopy of the ileum. Organisms were limited to the villi and superficial parts of the crypts. Clinical findings could not be related to the cryptosporidial infection.
