This article focuses on how people from middle and low income countries work collectively to bring research evidence into systematic reviews and to consider ways to ensure findings are used in clinical practice. Significant progress in formulating evidence based policies is discussed. A framework for dissemination and implementation of evidence based medicine is given to guide policy makers and clinicians in understanding research summaries and in using them to change practice.
