Hay fever symptoms from the cotton of the cottonwood tree

A group of twenty-four patients reported hay fever symptoms during the time of the year that the cotton of the cottonwood tree was blowing in the air (June and July). This investigation tried to identify the cause of their symptoms. Eight of the twenty-four had positive skin tests to the cotton, and eighteen had positive nasal challenges.
