Sera from 2 of 9 bovine foetuses in the latter half of gestation were bactericidal for Aerobacter aerogenes and Escherichia coli 0127, serum from 1 was bactericidal for A. aerogenes only and 2 for E. coli only; none was bactericidal for Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The factors involved were heat labile and included antibodies with different specificities.
