Intraspinal tumors must be included in the long list of differential diagnosis in the patient presenting with the low-back radicular pain syndrome. These tumors are classified easily by their relationship to the dura, and the type of compression readily discerned by myelography. Intradural dermoid cysts account for 1% of intraspinal tumor, but prompt, meticulous, surgical intervention may result in an excellent outcome.
