Renal aneurysm was discovered in 56 patients by means of angiography. High arterial pressure resistant to hypotensive treatment was the main clinical symptoms in most of the patients. Fibromuscular dysplasia was the most common cause of aneurysms; less frequently they developed as a result of atherosclerosis and aortoarteritis. A total of 53 operations were performed on 49 patients. Organ-preserving surgery in 45 patients was the main type of operative intervention which was based on the resection of aneurysms with subsequent reconstruction of the artery. There were no fatal outcomes. Aneurysms of the wall of the renal artery due to fibromuscular dysplasia, atherosclerosis or arteritis was one of the causes of vasorenal hypertension. The angiographic picture of renal aneurysms is quite variable. The presence of renal aneurysms is an absolute indication for reconstructive surgery.
