Organization of the rehabilitation of patients with myocardial infarction in rural areas

A scheme was presented for the organization of rehabilitation of patients with myocardial infarction in Altai Krai [Russian SFSR, USSR]. Comparative analysis of rehabilitation results showed that among persons passing through the rehabilitation office in 1980, 50% returned to work activity, in 1981, 57.2% and in 1982, 62.5%. Among patients not treated in the rehabilitation office, 20, 28.6 and 40.2%, respectively, returned to work. Thus, the regional rehabilitation office had a significant positive effect on restoration of working capacity.
