In 37 patients with nonmalignant diseases or bone fractures of the facial skull, 42 osteoscintigraphic investigations were accomplished with 99m Tc-l 1-hydroxyethylidene-1,1-diphosphonac or 99m Tc-methylenediphosphonate. It is more favaroable in the sense of having a lower irradiation load when carrying out osteoscintigraphy of the skeleton in the diagnosis before roentgenologic investigation of patients with diseases of the bones; these diseases can occur polyostotically, e.g., with fibrous osteodys plasias or with cosinophilous granulomas.
