Doppler ultrasonography and phlebography in venous pathology of the lower limb

The instrumental diagnostics were examined in the venous pathology of the lower limbs, carried out by means of ultrasound and phlebography were examined especially in the varicose veins syndrome and gives particular consideration to the localization of the I.P.V. (incompetent perforating veins). The statistical data noted studying various groups of patients by means of the above said methods and after a control made by surgical act is reported. No method apparently allows a certain discovery of I.P.V. but that, anyway the phlebography and the Doppler ultrasounds system, each one with its peculiarities, are of considerably utility. The ultrasound system was preferred for the information it gives, as well as for its simplicity and innocuity.
