Origin of the cardiac glands of the cat

The cardiac glands, the mucous neck cells and the zymogenic cells of the cat stomach were examined with regard to the structure and the property of the secretion. The result points to a close relationship of the cardiac glands and the mucous neck cells. The question is discussed whether the cardiac glands represent immature fundic glands.
