Evaluation of platelet function and the frequency of vasculo-cutaneous lesions in primary thrombocythemia

RIA in 5 patients with primary thrombocythemia is reported. The frequency and seriousness of their vasculocutaneous lesions were also evaluated. Pathological B-TG, TxB2 PgI2 and PF4 levels were noted in all patients, together with vasculocutaneous lesions whose gravity was significantly correlated with TxB2 values. Hemorrhage (epistaxis and metrorrhagia) was noted in only 1 patient. Platelet function was also assessed in 7 members of the patients' families.
