Twenty-five patients undergoing radiotherapy were each given 5 capsules of ultra-levure (Saccharomyces boulardii [RMVM 18, 1893]) morning and evening for 6 weeks. A second group of 25 patients receiving chemotherapy were given 3 capsules of ultra-levure 3 times/day for 2 months. Buccopharyngeal Candida infection developed in only one patient (undergoing radiotherapy).
