Because of the difficulty of diagnosis of myocardial infarction in the presence of left bundle-branch block, both ECG and VCG criteria have been proposed in the past. An attempt to correlate these criteria with the angiographic pattern and to evaluate them for sensitivity and specificity is reported on. Observations on 21 patients with little or no coronary artery disease are compared with data on 32 patients in whom such disease was established and left ventriculography demonstrated wall motion abnormalities. In both sensitivity and specificity VCG data were more helpful than ECG criteria.
