Digenetic trematodes of percoid fishes of Florianópolis, southern Brazil--Pleorchiidae, Didymozoidae, and Hemiuridae, with the description of three new species

Digenetic trematodes of percoid fishes of Florianopolis, southern Brazil, were studied. Three new species and 1 new type of didymozoan larva are described: Lecithocladium chaetodipteri, Lecithaster falcatus (type host), and Prolecitha brasiliensis. New host records are given. Florianopolis is a new locality record for the previously known species described here. The genera Prolecithia and Prosogonotrema are recorded for the 1st time in the southern Atlantic Ocean. Representative specimens of other species of digenetic trematodes from Florianopolis are described. The presently known geographical distribution of the genera Pleorchis, Myosaccium, Prolecitha and Prosogonotrema, of the Atlantic species of the genus Lecithaster, of the Brasilian species of the genus Lecithocladium, and of the species Parahemiurus anchoviae, Lecithochirium microstomum and Brachadena pyriformis, are presented and mapped.
