A haemodynamic study was made of 18 patients with Chagasic myocardiopathy and total A-V block without congestive cardiac insufficiency. 9 received digitalis intravenously for 31 days. There was no overall significant difference in haemodynamic function between the 2 groups of patients, but when each patient was analyzed individually, cardiac performance was significantly improved in those not receiving digitalis.
