Seminal plasma constituents & serum testosterone levels of vasectomized men

The effects of vasectomy (6-36 mo.) on androgenic parameters, serum testosterone levels, metal ion, and electrolyte contents were analyzed and compared with azoo-, oligo- and normospermic semen of proven fertility of closely matched age groups. Vasectomy did not manifest any adverse changes on the biochemical profile of semen, circulating testosterone levels and in the Mn2+ free radical spectra. The levels of Mn2+ and Cu2+ were lowered significantly after vasectomy in comparison with that of normospermic semen.
