A case of panarteritis nodosa with renal and intraabdominal symptoms is described. Diagnosis of this visceral form of this rare disease is extremely difficult, and in the absence of subcutaneous granulomata can only be made on angiography. Depending on the site affected, visceral disease can lead to life threatening internal haemorrhage which in most cases has to be treated surgically.
