Nepal 2001: results from the demographic and health survey

This paper presents the summary statistics of data collected from 8602 households and complete interviews conducted among 8726 women and 2261 men in Nepal, in 2001, on demography, fertility and fertility preferences, contraception, marital and contraceptive status, postpartum variables (breast feeding and postpartum interval) and infant mortality. Data on vaccination status (BCG, DPT, polio and measles vaccines), diarrhoea incidence and treatment, and nutritional status of children are also presented.
