Six parameters measured during a month in a pig fattening house were air temperature, relative humidity, ventilation rate, ammonia concentration, carbon dioxide concentration and microbial count. There was a large scatter of values, confirming the results of J. Karle (1981) and H. H. Duhrsen (1982). The type of measuring equipment also influenced the results. A 12-point procedure for evaluating air quality was drawn up.
