Reactors to paracoccidioidine in rural areas with fixed ecological disposition

A study in N.E. Brazil of the incidence of reactors to standardized paracoccidioidin obtained by Mackinnon's method is reported. Of 43 persons, 1 was positive and 18 were negative in the 0-11 yr age group, all 3 were negative in the 12-20 yr group, 4 were positive and 9 negative in the 21-40 yr group and I was positive and 7 negative in the 41-60 yr group. The data suggest the presence of group reactions in which hypersensitivity depends on another mycotic antigen with a more constant frequency.
