Relationship between the kininase and angiotensin-converting lung functions in rabbits with cerebroischemic and renovascular hypertension

Experiments on rabbits with experimental cerebroischemic and vasorenal hypertension have demonstrated that the development of arterial hypertension results in the increase in activity of the kinin-destroying and inhibition of the angiotensin-converting enzymatic systems of the lungs. Changes in depressor and pressor responses to bradykinin and angiotensin-I administration are accompanied by the enhancement of greater circulation vascular reactivity to the polypeptides. The most pronounced shifts were recorded in vasorenal hypertension.
