The in vivo effect of colchicine and its inactive analog lumicolchicine on lipid and protein plasma membrane composition of rat liver was studied. A decrease in cholesterol and phospholipid content was observed after treatment with colchicine. Under the same conditions a modification of protein electrophoretic patterns was observed which demonstrates a decrease in high MW proteins.
