Candida spp. were isolated from the sputum of 33 of 140 (23.57%) patients with pulmonary tuberculosis; C. albicans (26) was the sp. most commonly isolated, followed by C. tropicalis (3), C. pseudotropicalis (2)and C. krusei (2). A positive correlation was found between duration of illness and fungal isolation.
