Idiopathic hypertrophic osteoarthropathy [IHOA] (also known as pachydermoperiostosis) is a syndrome characterized by clubbing of the digits, periosteal new bone formation and thickening of the skin. In extremely rare instances IHOA may present without skin lesions. Two cases of IHOA were reported in which extensive acrolysis was present. There were no reports describing both conditions in the same indidivual. A case of IHOA is described in which acrolysis was present and skin lesions were absent.
