Intracranial berry aneurysms in infancy

Recent reports of intracranial berry aneurysms in infancy are reviewed and reasons given why their authenticity as genuine berry aneurysms is in doubt. The extreme rarity of berry aneurysms in this age group is reaffirmed. The possible existence of an authentic berry aneurysm in the young is not proof that berry aneurysms are due in part or in whole to a developmental defect. Review of aneurysms in this age group by a panel of expert vascular pathologists would resolve the controversy.
