Indications are stressed for the different techniques used for genioplasty, i.e., chin implants, homograft bone or cartilage, osteotomies, ostectomies and bone grafting. The surgical techniques are described while emphasizing the use of irradiated costal cartilage as chin implants. Recommendations for osteotomies and ostectomies are also discussed.
