The staff of the department of psychotherapy at the Salpêtrière Hospital (Department of Prof. Duché) includes five psychoanalysts who are in charge of the consultations and treatment of hospitalized children, out-patients and parents. Individual psychoanalytical psychotherapy and psychodrama are the methods used. For adolescents and psychotic children, psychotherapy is carried out in a more flexible way. Special attention is given to the outset of therapy and to the support provided to parents. Two groups for the training of child therapists are ongoing.
