Frequency and structure of subjective complaints were studied in 243 persons aged > 70 yr. On average, 9.3 complaints/man and 11.4/woman for subjects aged 70-79 yr were recorded; 11.6 complaints/man and 10.4/woman for subjects > 80 yr old were recorded. The most frequent complaints included pain (i.e., pain in lower extremities, pains at the heart, headache, pains in the sacral and lumbar spine), breathing difficulties, vertigo, and insomnia.
