Epidemic form of Reiter's disease

Case histories are presented of 2 patients with epidemic forms of Reiter's disease. Diagnosis was based on development of acute arthritis and conjunctivitis 1 mo. after short-lived enterocolitis and the presence in 1 patient of such characteristic symptoms as keratodermia. Intestinal infection was indicated by catarrhal-ulcerous proctosigmoiditis. One patient was treated with tetracycline, nystatin, ascorbic acid and dimedrol. The other was treated with tetracycline, nystatin, indomethacin, dexamethasone, ascorbic acid, dimedrol and therapeutic enemas with fish oil. After 7 days therapy, both patients were healthy.
