Glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase, glutamic pyruvic transaminase, lactate dehydrogenase, sorbitol dehydrogenase and pseudocholinesterase were estimated in serum from 93 children between 6 months and 3 years old in hospital in Cairo. Of the children 24 were normal, 10 had severe kwashiorkor, 10 had marasmic kwashiorkor and the others had marasmus.
