Interpretation of laryngeal tomograms

New data on radioanatomy of the human larynx are presented. Based on radioanatomic correlations made by tomography of the laryngeal anatomic preparations with contrasting of structural elements, it was established that the linear shades, seen on the tomograms, separating the vestibule of the larynx from the piriform sinuses, are not really the view of the aryepiglottic folds, as previously believed, but the view of the vestibular side walls. Apparently aryepiglottic folds do not produce their own shades on the tomograms.
