The survival times of 63 dogs with oral melanoma were not influenced by the sex of the dog, the location of the tumour, the volume of the tumour, or the type of surgery performed (scalpel excision or cryosurgery). Dogs with previously untreated tumours survived significantly longer than did dogs with recurrent tumours.
