Terminal transferase in various kinds of leukemia cells and its usefulness as a marker enzyme for vincristine and prednisolone treatment

Higher than normal levels of TdT . Besides non-T, non-B ALL blasts and T-ALL blasts, TdT activity was also detected in a rare case of B-ALL and in 3 cases of blast crisis of CML seeming to have B-cell markers. Vincristine and prednisolone were effective in ALL and in those cases with TdT positive blast crisis of CML and in some cases of AML. TdT activity is considered to be a useful marker to use vincristine and prednisolone as an initial therapy to TdT positive blast crisis of CML.
