Hepatitis B markers in the personnel of clinical-diagnostic laboratories

Compared to blood donors, personnel of a clinico-diagnostic laboratory more often were positive for hepatitis B surface antigen and antibody, and showed elevated serum alanine aminotransferase levels. The incidence of hepatitis B markers increased with age, and the laboratory personnel had higher incidences of viral hepatitis and other liver and biliary tract diseases.
