The possibilities and the advantages of ultrasound diagnosis of recent pregnancy are given. These studies revealed the following characteristic patterns: enlargement of the uterine corpus, gestational vesicle, gestational vesicle with fetal echo, chorion and the outlines of different fetal elements. Apparently, ultrasonography is a sure method of diagnosis of recent pregnancy and elucidates the possible doubts arising after clinical examination. Ultrasonography confirms intrauterine fetal life. This technique must gain an obligatory position in clinical practice.
