Secoverine is a new antimuscarinic agent selective for smooth muscle. It is a potent anticholinergic antagonist of acetylcholine in strips of human gastrointestinal and uterine muscle. The pA2 values in gut longitudinal and circular muscle, and myometrium were 9.1, 9.3 and 8.6, respectively.
