Interest has centered on the problem of toxoplasmosis as a causative factor in abortions, premature labor and stillbirths. The course of examination and treatment of 51 women with positive and increased titers of the complement fixation and Sabin-Feldman tests were analyzed. The women were admitted for treatment because of at least 2 abortions or stillbirths. A 3-stage treatment with daraprim, spiramycin and polopirin (aspirin) preparations in unpregnant subjects and with spiramycin and polopirin preparations in pregnant women were proposed. The treatment lasted 10 days and was repeated after 30 days. After treatment no apparent changes in the test titers were evident. Of the treated pregnant women, 5 delivered term liveborn babies and 6 were still under observation.
