The efficacy of 0.5% AgNO3 in the treatment of burns in humans was studied. AgNO3 in 0.5% aqueous solution is much better as a bactericidal agent than Soframycin. The wound infection could be controlled in a better way. The post-burn pain and healing rate were much better. The wound infection was minimal when AgNO3 was used.
