A 38-year-old woman born in Canada presented with symptoms that suggested a lymphoma, possibly Hodgkins disease. Several trials of chemotherapy over a 3-year period controlled her symptoms, but only during treatment. The appearance of a haemorrhagic mass in the left breast led to the surgical removal of bladder-like cysts, identified as Taenia serialis. This is the first description of human coenurus infection in Canada.
