Three commercially available conjugates (German, Czech and French) and two prepared in diagnostic laboratories were tested with three antigens. The results indicated that all five conjugates were reliable. However, only one of the three commercial preparations could be economically used at a working dilution of 1:20. The two conjugates prepared in laboratories allowed working dilutions of 1:40 and 1:80. The latter was prepared from golden hamster hyperimmune serum and was characterized by particularly brillant fluorescence. The need for standardization of the conjugate was emphasized.
