Growing importance is being gained by cytostatic substances and their therapeutic use on genital malignomas, in particular ovarian carcinoma. Increasing use of cytostatics, which are all characterised by extremely low therapeutic index values, has aggravated the risk of undesired side-effects, including toxic phenomena.--Reported in this paper is the case history of a patient who had suffered irreversible damage due to tissue necrosis of one forearm. Reference is made to possible approaches to prophylaxis for the purpose of preventing occurrence of localised side-effects of chemotherapy for neoplasias.
