The behaviour of the immunoglobulines IgG, IgA, IgM as well as of the C-reactive protein in case of melanoma

The mean values for the serum immunoglobulins IgG, IgA and IgM in 101 patients suffering from melanoma did not differ essentially from the corresponding values for a control group of healthy persons. Within the group of the melanoma patients any unequivocal alteration of the values being dependent on the stage of their disease did not result. The melanoma patients more frequently than patients suffering from other dermatoses showed an increased seral concentration of C-reactive protein. This finding might be interpreted as a clue to the possible participation of unspecified mechanisms in the reaction on the issues of the tumor but is of no importance for the tumor-specific diagnostics.
