Laryngeal paralysis in three cats

Acute laryngeal paralysis was diagnosed in three cats with signs of upper airway obstruction. In each case, the diagnosis was made by direct laryngoscopy. In two cases, the diagnosis was confirmed by electromyography of the larynx. Treatment consisted of partial laryngectomy, using an oral approach.
