Newborn infants (25) with umbilical granuloma were treated with cryosurgery, a new modality for these lesions. The size of the lesion, type of probe, precautions and complications are discussed in detail. The only complication was depigmentation of the surrounding skin, which was transient. The healing rate was 100%.
