Staphylococcal bacteremia was found in 5-21% of patients with generalized meningococcal infection. Bacteremia caused delayed convalescence in most of the patients (82%). Clinically it was manifested in a prolonged feverish reaction ad inflammatory changes in the vital organs. The frequency and severity of clinical manifestations of nonspecific bacteremia depended on the children's age and their premorbid status. Purposeful stimulating methods were indicated in the therapy of patients with combined meningococcal and staphylococcal infection.
